Standard documents used in VicRoads road and bridge construction, maintenance and related contracts can be accessed through this page.

  • General Conditions of Contract -current and recent releases of VicRoads General Conditions of Contract listed by name and revision number.
    Note: AS4300 – 1995-VR “General Conditions for Design and Construct” is not available electronically due to copyright. Hard copies can be purchased for $77 each (including GST) with payment by cheque, money order or credit card. On receipt of payment, a tax invoice can be provided along with the documents.   • Principal Arranged Construction Risks Insurance (PACRI) for road and bridge construction and related contracts.
  • Standard Specification Sections (unmodified) by work type and section number are available to be downloaded. Please note that as these sections are often modified for particular tender documents, hardcopies will continue to be provided in tender documents. Guide Notes, where available, can be found under the “Related Info” tab of the section number.

Effective 1 January 2020, all road management functions and responsibilities of the Roads Corporation (VicRoads) are transferred to and vested in the Head, Transport for Victoria (established under s64A of the Transport Integration Act 2010).

As a result, a reference to the Roads Corporation or VicRoads in the road management standards, manuals, guidelines, codes of practice, technical notes, drawings, specifications and other technical information and documentation available for download must be construed as a reference to Head, Transport for Victoria -

(a) so far as the reference relates to any period on or after 1 January 2020; and

(b) if not inconsistent with the subject matter.
