Our website is changing, but it’s still the place to access all your registration and licensing needs.
We are in the process of updating our website to focus on registration and licensing services.
The Department of Transport and Planning has introduced a new customer website called Transport Victoria. The website is the central place for information on Victoria’s road network, including road safety, policies, disruptions, and active transport.
Why is this change happening?
In August 2022, VicRoads embarked on a new chapter when the Victorian State Government partnered with Aware Super, Australian Retirement Trust and Macquarie Asset Management to operate and modernise registration and licensing services on its behalf. As part of this 40-year joint venture, the Government retains ownership of VicRoads and controls regulation, policy, data and privacy provisions for VicRoads. The Government continues to set pricing and collect the revenue for essential registration and licensing fees and maintains its roads and safety responsibilities.
As part of this evolution, the VicRoads website is refining its focus to concentrate solely on the services we provide. Areas we no longer manage, such as roads and road safety, policy and regulation, are transitioning to the new Transport Victoria website.
VicRoads remains the go to source for queries related to vehicle registration and licensing. Our aim is to ensure our website updates are as seamless as possible and we are here to assist you with the same team, dedication and service we have always provided.
