Administrator and manage users help

Get help with setting up new users, managing your users or resetting your password.


If you’re an administrator, you can resend verification codes and activation emails to users. 

To do so, follow the below steps:  
  1. Log into your myVicRoads partner account 
  2. Click on Manage Users 
  3. Choose the user that needs a new verification code.  
If we’ve already approved access, but the user hasn’t activated their account: 
  1. Click on the resend activation email text. The accordion will open up to reveal a space to enter a new verification code
  2. Enter the new user's email address. We’ll send them a new activation email 
  3. Ask them to check their inbox and follow the instructions in the activation email. 
If the user is already linked to another partner account using the same email address:
  1. Click on the resend confirmation email text.
If the user has already been approved, and has previously logged into their account
  1. Click on the reset password text
  2. Enter a new verification code.
If you’re an administrator and you’ve forgotten your own password, visit the user dashboard and functions help for instructions to reset your password.


If you’re a partner account administrator, you can: 
  • perform transactions on behalf of your organisation 
  • reset passwords for users
  • lock users
  • delete users
  • upgrade users to administrators
  • view all transactions and business actions for the partner account
If you’re a partner account user, you can perform transactions on behalf of your organisation. 

Add a new user or administrators

Partner account administrators can create new users and administrators. You can add a maximum of 3 administrators per partner account.
To add a user:
  1. Click Manage users
  2. Click Add user
  3. Follow the online form to complete the set-up
  4. The new user or administrator is sent an activation email. You’ll need to give them the verification code you created.  They’ll then need to activate their account within 72 hours.

If you’ve already signed up for one partner account, you can use the same log in to link to another partner account. 

The partner administrator can add you to their partner account by completing the following steps:
  1. Go to Manage users 
  2. Click on Add user
  3. Enter the email address in of the person you want to add. If the users email is already linked to another partner account, you’ll see the below message.

We’ll then review the application, and if approved, they will receive an email asking them to confirm the account.

Switching partner accounts 

When you log in, choose the partner account you need from the dashboard.

To switch accounts, click the person icon and select Switch partner.

Check the dashboard at any time to find out which partner account you’re logged into.


If you’re a partner account administrator, you’re responsible for maintaining user access rights. Lock or delete users who no longer need to access your partner account. 
To lock a user:
  1. Go to Manage users 
  2. Click the user’s name from your list of users
  3. Tick the Lock user checkbox. A Lock user page displays
  4. Select a Reason for locking the account account 
  5. Click Lock account.
To delete a user:
  1. Click Manage users
  2. Click the user’s name from your list of users
  3. Click Delete this user at the top right of the page.  A Delete user page displays
  4. Select a Reason for deleting account.  If the user is the primary contact, you’ll need to choose a new one. 
  5. Click Confirm deletion.


If you’re a dealer principal, you’re responsible for making sure your dealership runs according to the Dealer Certification Scheme agreement. 

The dealer principal listed on your myVicRoads partner account must be the same person listed as the dealer's representative on your written agreement.  To change the dealer principal on myVicRoads, refer to the Partner details updates below.


Choose a primary contact to be the main person we talk to about your partner account. Change your primary contact through your myVicRoads partner account at any time.

Anyone signing up for a myVicRoads partner account must get a valid National Police Check.  To be valid, the date of issue on your police check must be no older than 3 months when you sign up. You’ll need to upload your police check as part of the sign up process.

1. Go  to your partner account dashboard and click Payment and billing 

2. Choose to manage credit cards or bank accounts

3. In this scenario, we are managing a credit card. Click on add credit card. 

4. Enter in the credit card type, Name on card, Card Number  & Expiry date.

5. Give the card a nickname eg. Bob Smiths Card.

6. Click on store credit card.

7. A message will be displayed – Your payment details have been updated. 

You can store 3 credit cards at any one time.

You need a Victorian driver licence number or VicRoads customer number to sign up for a myVicRoads partner account. 

To get a VicRoads customer number, visit one of our customer service centres and show the required identity documents.


If you're a partner account administrator, you can change or manage the following information in your partner account.
  • Postal address
  • Business phone number
  • Primary contact
  • Dealer principal details
Contact myVicRoads support team on 1300 555 153 to change any of the following details:
  • Company/business name
  • Trading name
  • ABN
  • ACN
  • LMCT
  • Vehicle make when doing new vehicle registrations
  • Business address
