Road rules exist to help keep our roads safer for all road users. Penalties apply to those caught breaking the rules and may include monetary fines, loss of your learner permit or driver licence, or you may be taken to court. Many offences also attract demerit points.

If you don’t pay your fines, Fines Victoria can direct VicRoads to impose a suspension against your driver licence, learner permit or vehicle registration. If directed we must apply the suspension to your registration and/or driver licence.
